Sedum Spurium ‘Purple Winter’
Sedum Spurium is a low growing succculent Stonecrop to no more than 15cm high. Used as a groundcover for its colourful evergreen red to green leaves which change to a lilac purple colour in winter. Flushes of striking deep pink flowers, which we think are some of the best the genus has to offer, emerge every summer and will last through to autumn. One of the best drought tolerant plants for rockery situations in full sun. Also ideal in container gardens, patio crevices and borders. The blooms of flowers are irresistible to pollinating insects such as butterflies and bees so make a healthy addition to wildlife gardens.
Grows best in well drained, poor soils. Sedum Spurium will tolerate part shade but aim for full sun exposure where possible.
